This was the our first visit to Sattal in April 2012. And what a birding trip it was. Buji (my brother, foremost disciple and field Assistant), Didi, Anjana, Ishani, Rumpa and I were the member of the party.So far as the birding is concerned, I have no hesitation in acknowledging that it was the best ever in our life. In an hour or so, we got to see and click so many species, and that too without any effort, that we were dazed and stupefied and did not know how that could be possible. Sattal is therefore, very popular amongst bird lovers.
We stayed, at KMVN lodge which has got decent rooms and food. The biggest advantage is the proximity to Sattal Park which is the hotspot for birding.
