In march 2013, Buji, Didi, Ashokda, Ravindraji and his wife Seema Bhabhi and I visited Teerthan, Himachal Pradesh. Our wonderful host, Shri Panki Sood of Sunshine Himalayan Adventures was with us all three days attending to our smallest of requests and making this trip(for me the 7th time in two year) so very special. For my cousin Buji(Ramashish Roy) and I, it was primarily a birding trip. This time of the year is perhaps the best time to go to teerthan for bird watching. It is a paradise for bird watcher and for bird photography.

Our efforts on the day-one itself were rewarded with the sighting of the beautiful Verditer Flycatcher, Red-throated Tit, Red headed Bullfinch, crimson Sunbird. The most memorable catch for us will undoubtedly be the "Red-headed bull finch' and the chestnut-headed tesia( which we could not have sighted without Pankiji's help).I am sharing some photographs of the trip.

All species of Tesia are very shy.It spends most of its life time in dense undergrowth. We would never have sighted it had it not been for our friend Shri Panki Sood of Sunshine Himalayan Adventure help.
